Plant a Tree on your Birthday in The Northern Public Lands of Georgia

Project Description

Unlike most of our tree planting projects that plant trees in a specific forest, this reforestation project plants trees across a wide swath of about 44 counties in northern Georgia (see map below).

As Atlanta and its suburbs continue to grow, forestland is commonly clearcut, fragmented, developed and converted to other land use. Our project will work with public and private landowners to plant trees and to manage resources in the area.

The reforestation project will include the planting of red oak trees along longleaf, shortleaf and loblolly pines, all native species. This project will enhance wildlife habitat, and communities will benefit from the clean air and clean water resulting from the new tree growth. An additional benefit: these yellow pine species fit well with multiple resource management, as they are fire tolerant.

Please understand that this is the general area of the tree planting. Your tree will be planted among thousands of other birthday trees and there is no plaque designating the tree and visiting your particular tree is unfortunately not possible.

Know that the tree planting project is making a monumental difference for the earth and opening a new doorway to the world for future generations. If you have any questions, please view our contact information at: www.mybirthdaytree.org/contact-us
