Plant a Tree on your Birthday in The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, Arizona
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Plant a Tree on your Birthday in The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, Arizona. Apache-Sitgreaves comprises over 2 million acres of beautiful land located in east-central Arizona. This vast area is best known for its lands brimming with natural resources and diverse wildlife.
The planting project focuses on reforesting high severity burn areas within the fire scar in the Black River watershed. Your tree planting , including Ponderosa pines and Douglas fir species, will help restart the process with the reforesting of the tree stands lost in fires and to reestablish forest cover to improve watershed quality and promote biodiversity for endangered, threatened, and sensitive plant and wildlife habitat (like the Mexican spotted owl and New Mexican jumping mouse, and the Heber Wild Horse Territory) – a win for the ecological quality of the forest and benefit the overall environment in the area.
